Souvenir

The detritus of life constitutes a modern souvenir, a memory in the form of waste. The basics of feeding and clothing oneself contribute to an inevitable collection of discarded souvenirs. Stockpiled in landfills and the ocean, this detritus forms a long-term cultural collection that reflects consumer choices. For this one-month project my family made every effort to reduce our trash/souvenirs and make conscious choices about detritus. I assembled these choices into art.
