How to Unmake an American Quilt

With Katie Hargrave

The act of undoing as an ethical choice. How to Un-make an American Quilt creates space for political dialog by acting in reverse. This is skilling without an emphasis on result but instead for the sake of collectivity and conversation. We work toward building a collective understanding of communal labor through (un)doing. We see the work as an opportunity to contemplate alternatives to material use, gender roles, labor, and historical nostalgia through deconstruction and removing progress.
