TEAtime

This goal setting practice exists or has existed in Illinois, California, Japan, New York, and Canada. The process is simple. Locate space and time for tea. At the beginning of each TEAtime state your goals for the up-coming two-weeks and read aloud goals from the previous two-weeks. The public nature of the statements provides a benefit. I started this project to create the artificial deadlines school provides for other aspects of my art making: show applications, artist statements, and organizing images. I see this as a mechanism to apply the most useful aspects of school, deadlines, to all aspects of my life.

Directions:

TEAtime is devoted to drinking tea and chatting.

Please bring: A list of goals for the following two-week period.

Optional:
Your favorite cup
Your favorite tea
Milk, sugar

TEAtime provides a structure for people to create deadlines.

How it works:
Each TEAtime a nominated secretary will take notes as people state their goals for the next two-weeks. This is simply an opportunity to state goals. There will be no formal discussion about whether or not individuals met their goals. The rest of the hour is devoted to chatting and drinking tea.
